HOCKEY: Hardy hits double to end run

Witney Ladies took over at the top of South Ladies League Division 3A with a convincing 4-1 home win against former leaders West Hampstead.

They went ahead with an outstanding reverse stick strike from a tight angle by forward Hayley Dobson.

After the break, Witney grabbed a third goal when Dobson’s cut-back was deflected into her own net by a Hampstead player.

Although the visitors pulled a goal back, captain Katie Gatt sealed victory for the hosts with an unstoppable flick.
