Skipper Tim Hardy netted a brace as Witney men recorded their first win of the season in Middx, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Regional 1 with a 5-0 home thrashing of Staines 2nd on Saturday.
Liam Frost, Andy Willemite and Jacob Deacon completed their tally.
Witney 2nd crashed to a 4-0 defeat at Division 4 basement boys Phoenix & Ranelagh.
A goal from Triv Trivett was in vain as Witney 3rd lost 2-1 at home to Division 5 leaders Staines 4th. Witney 4th fell to the bottom of Division 9 as they lost 2-1 to Harrow 2nd, Joe Taylor was on target for the visitors.
Witney Ladies took over at the top of South Ladies League Division 3A with a convincing 4-1 home win against former leaders West Hampstead.
They went ahead with an outstanding reverse stick strike from a tight angle by forward Hayley Dobson.
Witney doubled their lead with a well taken goal from Charlotte Manning.
After the break, Witney grabbed a third goal when Dobson’s cut-back was deflected into her own net by a Hampstead player.
Although the visitors pulled a goal back, captain Katie Gatt sealed victory for the hosts with an unstoppable flick.
