Chris Hirons hit a hat-trick for West Witney as they stormed to a 10-0 win at Banbury District & Lord Jersey FA outfit Wroxton Sports in the fourth round of the Oxfordshire John Fathers Junior Shield on Saturday.

Tony McLeman (2), Carl Austin (2), Danny Brearley, Carl Williams and Jamie Stalker sealed it for the Witney & District FA visitors.

Tony Bott scored twice as Charlbury Town defeated Souldern 4-1.

Dan Bott and Craig McCallum made sure of victory.

They were just two of a handful of matches to survive the monsson-like conditions.

Meanwhile, in the only league game, Kirtlington beat Ducklington Res 4-1 to go second in Division 2.

Bruce Wilson, Sam Wheeler, Alex Metcalfe and Lawrence Brock were on target for the home side. Scott Maise replied for Ducklington.

In Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 West, Clan-field’s home game with Tuffley Rovers, Old Woodstock Town’s trip to Letcombe and North Leigh United’s derby with Carterton were all off.

In the only Critchleys’ Upper Thames Valley League to survive, Division 1 leaders Freeland Yeoman’s Division 1 trip suffered a shock 8-1 hiding at AFC Valley.

Richard Morgan (5), And-rew Cummins, Aaron Lester and an own goal wrapped up the scoring.
