Farmoor Fly-Fishing Club are celebrating their 50th anniversary.
To mark the milestone, there will be a significant increase in early-season stoc-king of rainbow trout to their Darlow Water, near Hardwick, followed by top-up stoc-kings at fortnightly intervals until mid-June.
More fish will be added in September and October.
The club was founded at a meeting in Oxford Town Hall in 1964, with former Oxford Mail angling correspondent and tackle dealer, Fred Tay-lor, to the fore.
Although the club retains its original name, members now fish at Darlow, a 25-acre lake in an idyllic setting in the Windrush valley.
The annual family barbecue and picnic is on July 6.
The free fly-casting course for all-comers will take place in May and June (details on 01235 529552).
The club also host the ann-ual charity day for under-pri-vileged children on June 18.
Members are reminded that the closing date for subscription renewal is February 28, while prospective new members should contact the membership secretary on 01993 882971.
