The result saw the visitors move up a place to eighth.

Trailing 28-25 with minutes remaining, Witney’s hopes of a win appeared to be over, but Muller struck to take the spoils.

Salisbury could have won it in injury-time, but missed a penalty as Witney held on.

With the wind at their backs, Witney took the lead on 14 minutes when Phil Tho-mas kicked a penalty.

However, Dave Thomson bustled over for a converted try to put the hosts 7-3 up.

Witney restored their lead when Muller touched down, following a maul, but Salis-bury hit back with a penalty to lead 10-8.

However, the hosts nosed further ahead in the second half, thanks to another penalty.

Witney cranked up the pressure and went 15-13 ahead through a well-worked try from Matt Clarke, converted by Thomas.

But Witney were kicking themselves after a mis-placed pass saw Phil Carr race to the line for an unconverted try to give the home side a 21-20 advantage.

Witney recovered their composure with Adam Cop-perwheat went over in the corner for an unconverted score as the visitors led 25-21 with time running out.

A converted Josh Green try looked to have won it for the hosts with two minutes left.

Salisbury then fluffed their lines with that penalty miss as Witney squeezed in.
