Pete The Feat, Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon’s Crabbie’s Grand National entry, is set to go on trial for the Aintree spectacular at Newbury on Saturday.
The ten-year-old is on course to line up in the GreatwoodVeterans’ Handicap Chase where his rivals could include the 2011 Hennessy Gold Cup hero Carruthers.
Longsdon will be looking for an improved showing from his charge after he was pulled up in heavy ground at Sandown earlier this month.
