TOWER Hill Vixens edged past hosts Summertown Stars 1-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the Oxford Mail Girls League Under 11 League Cup.

Vixens were indebted to goalkeeper Millie Cookson following a string of saves to preserve their lead, after Freya Muttock scrambled home a cross to give the visitors victory and a place in the last eight.

Carterton were second best in their match at Kidlington Hawks, going down 7-0 in the Under 12 League clash.

  • AN Alana Jones brace gave Carterton Town a 2-0 win over Penn & Tylers Green in the Oxon/Bucks Under 14 Primeira Liga.

Jones completed an impressive passing move to give the home side a deserved lead at the break, before adding a second ten minutes into the second half.
