Windrush Valley Boxing Club’s Jimmy Doran, 12, kept up his winning record as he beat Guildford’s Joseph Inm-an in the pre-quarter-finals of the England Schoolboy Championships at Bracknell, Berkshire.
Doran, the newly-crowned Home Counties champion in the 37.5-40kg class A category following his victory against Cheshunt’s Archie Ward, proved too good for the Guild-ford southpaw.
His speed of movement and variety of punches unhinged Inman in the first round.
Doran used straight jabs and accurate body punches as he took the next two rounds in a tough battle.
He will now face Eastern Counties champion Luke Brook (Rayleigh) at Camberley, Surrey, on Saturday in a 40kg bout for a place in the semi-finals.
