Witney ladies saw Oxford Hawks 2nds beat them to the South Ladies League 3A title, despite a 3-2 victory at home to Milton Keynes.
Needing a win to keep alive their hopes, Lucy Reading gave Witney the lead before doubling her tally.
Hayley Dobson made it 3-0 following a penalty corner.
Although Milton Keynes scored twice, Witney held on.
But Hawks’ 5-0 win against Sonning saw them pip Witney to the championship.
Witney men were relegated from Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Regional 1 after a 3-2 home defeat to Wycombe. Liam Frost (2) replied.
Witney 2nd stayed clear of the Division 4 relegation zone, despite a 10-3 loss at Marlow 3rd. Tom Yallop (2) and Craig Summers netted.
Witney 3rd finished bottom of Division 5 with a 8-0 loss to Leighton Buzzard 2nd.
