CHANGES will be made to the starting line-up as Oxford United play their second game in four days his afternoon.

The 18-man squad for today’s trip to Scunthorpe United will be the same as in the Good Friday clash with York City.

Head coach Gary Waddock plans to refresh the line-up to handle the back-to-back Easter games, but made it clear those who miss out have not been dropped.

He said: “It will have nothing to do with anybody’s performance.

“We may make one change, we may make three or four.

“We’ll look at them in training and see how they are, sleep on it and then have a meeting.”

Alfie Potter, a substitute in the last two games, is likely to be at the front of the queue, with either Ryan Williams or Callum O’Dowda making way.

Andy Whing’s combative style could be valuable against the league leaders, while David Connolly may be considered if Dave Kitson cannot play 90 minutes twice in quick succession.

Sean McAllister (rib) and Gary McSheffrey (hamstring) are both doubts, but Scunthorpe manager Russ Wilcox could name the same XI for the third game in a row.

TODAY’S SQUADS

Scunthorpe Utd: Slocombe, Nolan, Mirfin, Canavan, Williams, Hawkridge, Syers, Sparrow, Adelakun, Madden, Winnall, Severn, Ribeiro, Waterfall, Collins, Burton, Godden, Hayes Oxford Utd: from Clarke, Hunt, Raynes, Wright, Newey, Potter, Whing, Ruffels, O’Dowda, Constable, Connolly, Kitson, Williams, Wroe, Davies, Rose, Long, Crocombe.

I have faith in Mr Waddock. It's a shame he's stuck with CW's squad but hopefully next season he'll be able to begin to shape his own team.
Let's see if we can do well today, and get a bit of luck with other team's results.
