Hanborough pipped Kidlington by just four runs in their OCA League Telegraph Cup first-round clash.
Matthew Nielsen’s 40 got his Hanborough unit up to 158-8.
Despite 65 from Andy Oliver, the Kidlington response fell agonisingly short on 154-7.

Westcott piled on 356-7 with Rehman Ullah top-scoring on 84, Charlbury were bowled out for the same score – 84.
Swinbrook failed to cope with the Martin clan as they lost by 99 runs to Wantage.
Ryan smacked an unbeaten 54 and Barry 40 in their side’s 181-9, before Barry struck with 4-11 as Swinbrook were dispatched for 82.
A half-century from Jason Seacole (50) propelled Witney Swifts to 202-9 at home to Chesterton.
The guests could only manage 127 in reply, Graeme Woodward bagging 4-37.
Swifts now face near-neighbours Hailey who overcame Deddington, despite only posting 115.
However, Chris King’s 5-16 and Andy Green’s 4-21 allowed Hailey to chalk up a 66-run win.
In another low-scoring affair, Marsh Gibbon made 125 at Marcham, extras top-scoring with 23.
But it was more than enough as the hosts were all out for 78, Tom Leonard taking 4-12.
Eynsham lost by two wickets away to Cairns Fudge.
In an entertaining contest, the visitors were all out for 133 with Jimmy Rossitor contributing 41.
Martin Hanscombe waded in for the hosts with 5-40.
