Lloyd Brock returned Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League club record figures of 6-39 as Great & Little Tew moved out of the Division 2 relegation zone with a six-wicket win at Falkland.

Brock’s superb effort, which came off 18 overs, sent the Newbury-based club spiralling to 162 all out after they had won the toss and elected to bat.

He cut a swathe through Falkland’s top order to reduce the hosts to 13-3.

Brock made the breakthrough by having Bruce Martin caught and bowled.

Fellow opener David Bloor followed before Brock bowled James Bloodworth.

Brock bowled ex-Hampshire all-rounder Hamza Riazuddin to make it 30-4.

Skipper Andy Harris bowled Theo Cooke, and Ian Bryan had Sam Rhys caught behind to make it 58-6.

Benjamin Piper and Craig Williams put on 74 for the seventh wicket, before Brock had the latter caught.

Rehan Akram became Bro-ck’s sixth victim, and Harris picked up the final two wickets to finish with 3-47. Piper was the last man out for 73.

Tew were always in control of the run chase, with White (40) and Hubbert putting on 55 for the first wicket.

Markus Jeacock (39) and Harry Smith continued the momentum, before Slatter bludgeoned a quick-fire 39 from 28 deliveries, with six fours and a six, as Tew stormed to victory.
