Chastleton trainer John Gallagher was thrilled by the manner of Ada Lovelace’s victory at Brighton.

The four-year-old filly galloped home two and a quarter lengths clear of Whitecrest in an extended five-furlong handicap under champion jockey Richard Hughes.

And Gallagher said: “I expected her to win as she was in great form, but I didn’t think she’d win as well as that.”
