Samantha Bevan-Talbot scored a late winner as Tower Hill Ladies came from behind for a dramatic 4-3 win at Southern Region Women’s League Division 1 Northern leaders MK City.

Having been thrashed 4-1 at home by the pacesetters in October, Tower Hill were anxious for revenge.

However, they got off to the worst possible start when the hosts went ahead on seven minutes through Kirsty Walker.

A few minutes later, though, Tower Hill were level when Bevan-Talbot fired a close-range shot into the top right corner.

Tower Hill’s Katie Wright had a goal ruled out for offside, before they went ahead. Carly Thomas fired in a shot from outside the box, which the keeper fumbled over the line.

Tower kept up the pressure and made it 3-1. Midfielder Ellen Hopkins drove forward and beat several players before lashing home from 20 yards.

After the break, MK City came out fired up and clawed a goal back through Jordan Bateman while Tower’s Jess Witcher was off the field receiving treatment.

The hosts levelled on 75 minutes when Gina Burns fired in.

But Tower Hill regained their composure and seven minutes from time they bagged the winner, with a superb strike from Bevan-Talbot to complete her brace.
