ATHLETICS: Batts to stand down

Witney Roadrunner's coach Charlie Batts has retired after 16 years of commitment to the club's junior section.

Batts has been involved with the junior set-up since it's infancy, and has been a leading force, enabling the group to grow from a small number to the 100-strong team the club now boasts.

He was the first decathlete for Witney Roadrunners, and will still be competing for the club as a veteran.

Later this week, he travels to Helsinki to compete in the European Masters Pentathlon.
