ROMAIN Grosjean is looking for history to repeat itself when he competes in this weekend’s Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix.
Having not scored a point from the opening two races, Grosjean and his teammate Pastor Maldonado are desperate to get off the mark.
“I scored my first Formula 1 points at Shanghai in 2012 and scored points again in 2013, so let’s hope that’s a good omen,” said Grosjean from the Enstone-based Lotus team.
“Certainly, we’re better placed than when we last visited the track.”
“I think China should play more to the Mercedes, but we’ll be fighting to do our best and present a challenge too.”
Technical director Nick Chester said Sebastian Vettel’s win for Ferrari in Malaysia gave the other teams hope.
He added: “It shows that with enough development Mercedes can be beaten which is good for the sport.
“Rest assured, we’re doing everything we can to challenge Mercedes, Ferrari and every other team as best we can.”
Meanwhile, Sean Walkinshaw and co-driver Craig Dolby finished 15th in round one of the Blancpain Sprint Series at Nogaro in France.
He said: “It was a disappointing weekend, with how everything turned out, but there are a lot of positives for us to take away.”
