Joe White hit a sensational unbeaten century as Great & Little Tew beat visitors Datchet by five runs in a thrilling Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League Division 2 clash on Saturday.

White finished on 130 not out as his opening partnership with Matt Clark proved pivotal.

Datchet were always in with a chance, thanks to a quickfire 40 from skipper Steven Naylor, but fell just short.

White and Clark, who set a club league record opening stand last JACK Morland claimed 5-26 to help OCA League Division 4 leaders Swinbrook to a five-wicket win at home to Dorchester.

The visitors were shot out for 122 as Morland and Andrew Wingfield Digby (3-45) starred with the ball.

Thom Airs took 4-4 in 12 miserly overs, but Wingfield Digby’s 50 not out and Richard Parker (33no) led Swinbrook to 123-5.

Stanton Harcourt posted a three-wicket victory away to Britwell Salome.

Adam McConkey smashed an unbeaten century (119no) as Britwell rattled up an impressive 212-3.

But 82 from Ollie Pascoe and 32 from Stuart Wastie led Stanton’s successful run chase as they reached 213-7.

Sean King’s 4-22 helped Hailey to dismiss hosts Deddington for just 100 runs.

Hailey then reached 102-4 to seal a six-wicket success.

Kilkenny lost by eightwickets to Uffington.

They posted 150-9, Peter Jones taking 5-23.

Dan Painter top-scored with 89 to see Uffington in.

West Witney took over at the top of Division 5 as they squeezed past visitors Hook Norton by 14 runs.

Omer Tariq (49) and Saurabh Mehrotra (48no) saw West Witney to 173-9 in their 45 overs, Clive Plant taking 4-18.

Greg Inge then claimed 4-35 as Hooky fell to 159 all out.

week with 141, improved their best with a partnership of 160.

Clark was bowled by Harry Stephens for 61, before Harry Smith fell just two balls later, trapped lbw by the same bowler.

Martin Coetzee added 45 with White before he was caught by Jones off Naylor for 27 off 24 balls.

Curtly Slatter was run out, but White held the innings together.

His classy 130 coming off 148 balls with 14 fours and one six.

In reply, Andy Harris struck first for Tew, dismissing Thomas Lambert for eight and then Stephens for 52 as the visitors were 83-2.

A 72-run partnership between Tim Alldis and Gareth Harte kept Datchet in the hunt, before both fell in quick succession.

Naylor did his best to keep his side in touch, smashing 40 off 22 deliveries, but when both he and Ben Tyler were dismissed, Tew were in pole position.

Adam Jones almost won it for Datchet, his 38 coming off 30 balls, but with Sam Finn and Oliver Smithson run out, the visitors fell just short.
