Lawrence Brock took 9-49 from 17 devastating overs as Great & Little Tew 2nd maintained their 100 per cent winning start at the expense of Bledlow Village in Division 2 of the Cherwell League.

Kevin Taylor denied his teammate the chance of taking all ten when he claimed the final wicket of Lewis Craker, caught by Lawrence’s brother, Lloyd.

Seven of his Lawrence’s victims were bowled and one trapped leg before in a sensational display.

Bledlow’s final score of 118 was never going to be enough as Tew cruised to 119-2, Markus Jeacock falling for 51 just before victory was confirmed.

Gt Tew 2nd 25pts, Bledlow Village 3 Wasim Mehmood took 4-25 from 15 overs to bowl Oxford Downs to their first win in a tight finish at Didcot.

Downs were in trouble early on before being rescued by Will Watts (64) and number nine Harry Sutton (49).

Aiden Kammel finished with 4-20.

The visitors’ score of 159 did not look enough , but Mehmood’s introduction changed the match and the hosts were all out for 150.

Didcot 7, Oxford Downs 25 Sandford St Martin are still seeking their first win after blocking out for a draw at home to Challow & Childrey.

After electing to field, Sandford made early inroads through Daniel Jason Smith (3-33), and would have fancied their chances when opener Ryan Gordon (51) was out.

However, a 112-run fourth wicket partnership between Tim Linnane (79) and Luke Jones (24) put Challow in command, and despite losing a flurry of late wickets they still earned maximum batting points by posting 227-9.

Any hopes Sandford had of challenging for victory were blown away by opening bowlers Luke Jones (4-28) and Conor Jones (4-48), who reduced them to 50-5.

Challow were then frustrated by Tim Rothwell (26) and Oliver Ong (38no), who added 57 for the sixth wicket, and the tail, which wagged long enough to seal a draw on 149-9.
