ASHLEY Rump smashed a brilliant century for struggling Charlbury, but it proved all in vain as his side lost by 82 runs at Westbury in Division 1 on Saturday.

The title-chasing hosts amassed a formidable 312-4 in their 45 overs as Paul Atkins hit 75 not out.

Tom Gurney (66) and Ben Rae (55) also contributed.

Rump led the way in Charlbury’s reply, but he regularly lost batting partners as his side fell to 230 all out.

Minter Lovell’s title hopes suffered a massive setback as they were beaten at Great Horwood, who leapfrogged them at the top of the table.

Horwood were restricted to 185-9 as Eddie Dunn took 3-24.

But Minster crashed to 130 all out, Haydon Morrison returning figures of 5-40.

Oxenford secured an important victory in their bid to avoid the drop, beating hapless Chadlington by nine wickets.

Aaron Hirtenstein (4-12) was the pick of the bowlers as Chadlington were shot out for 110, and then Zain Iqbal hit an unbeaten 58 in an unbroken century stand with Junaid Aziz as his side reached 116-1.

Tim Wyatt hit 89 to help Stonesfield to a three-wicket home win against Shrivenham.

Wyatt’s knock saw Stonesfield home at 166-7 as they chased down Shrivenham’s 163 all out.

Conor Taylor claimed 5-31 for the visitors.

Chipping Norton took over at the top of Division 2 after a 17-run win at Witney Swifts.

David Brassett (52) led Chippy to 218-5, before Jim McGeown’s 3-30 helped to restrict the home side to 201-7, despite half-centuries for Kieran Foggett (57) and Andy Fisher (52).

In Division 3, Eynsham were skittled for just 59 runs as they were soundly beaten by nine wickets at home to Chesterton.

Stanton Harcourt maintained their promotion bid after an eight-wicket home win over Britwell Salome in Division 4.

Britwell were all out for 116, despite 59 not out from Adam McConkey.

Joel Graham (51no) then led Stanton’s reply as they eased to 117-2.

Sean King’s 5-56 was in vain for Hailey, who lost by 79 runs at home to Deddington, while Chris May claimed 5-20 to help Kilkenny to an eight-wicket win at Uffington.

ADAM Bennett claimed a brilliant seven wickets to help Hook Norton to a 115-run win at home to West Witney in Division 5.

Dan White hit 83 in Hooky’s 222-9, before Bennett’s magnificent 7-41 sent West Witney crashing to 107 all out.

Chris Morgan took five wickets as Minster Lovell 2nd beat Garsington by 58 runs.

Half centuries from Ed Price (53) and Elliott Crowther (50) steered Minster to 191-8.

Morgan’s haul of 5-46 helped to dismiss the visitors for 133.

In Division 8, a haul of 5-14 from David Moss helped Combe to an 84-run win at home to Minster Lovell 3rd.

Chris Moore had earlier hit 70 not out for the hosts, before Moss’s exploits sent Minster to 78 all out.

Eynsham 2nd lost by six wickets against Kilkenny 2nd.

Glenn Edwards top scored with 40 in Eynsham’s 177 all out, Phil Thorp (3-44) and Kashif Hafeez (3-51) starring with the ball.

In reply, openers Thorp (30) and Tom Clapham (62) helped Kilkenny seal the victory with the loss of four wickets.

Jason Lowe smashed a brilliant 117 not out to help Charlbury 3rd to a 180-run victory over visitors Kennington 2nd in Division 10.
