WEST Witney claimed the Witney & District FA Premier Division title for the third time in four years with a nervous 1-0 victory over Minster Lovell, writes Anthony Barlow.
The new champions were given the boon of an additional three points after Chipping Norton Town were found to have fielded an ineligible player against them.
This put West Witney level on points with Carterton Town A with one game to play, and they secured the points they needed at home to Minster Lovell.
It wasn’t a classic performance from the usually free-scoring West Witney, but a single Kevin Lewis strike ensured they clinched victory.
