The under 17 athlete won the shot with an effort of 11.60m, and took the javelin title. He also came second in the discus.

l WOODSTOCK’S Sophie Carter was the first woman home at the Cottisford 5k.

The Belgrave Harrier came 17th overall in 18mins 4secs.

James Bolton, of Woodstock Harriers, finished second and as the first vet 40.
