CHARLBURY’S unbeaten start was ended comprehensively as they crashed to a ten-wicket defeat at home to Faringdon in Division 1 of the OCA League.

Nigel Hume was the star for the visitors as he took 5-22 in Charl- bury’s 112 all out, before slamming 77 not out in Faringdon’s 116-0.

Stonesfield lost by 47 runs at early pacesetters Shrivenham.

Batting first, the hosts were well set on 165-3 with ten overs to go, thanks to a fine 51 from Will Snell and 43 from Charan Chahal.

But a middle-order collapse, sparked by Tom Gubbins’s hat-trick in figures of 4-42, saw them slump to 205 all out.

Tim Wyatt top-scored with 55 in Stonesfield’s reply, but they fell to 158 all out as Chahal took 4-32.

In Division 2, Steven Hunt took five wickets to help Chadlington to an 83-run win at home to Witney Swifts.

Mark Lambert (41), Andy Brown (39) and Matthew Bailey (35) helped Chadlington to 221-7, before Hunt claimed 5-23 as Swifts were shot out for 138 in reply.

Eynsham beat Hanborough by 72 runs in Division 3.

Sam Jones (50) and Dominic Coe (45) saw Eynsham to 200-9.

Mark Weller then claimed 4-23 and Dave Harris 3-31 as Hanborough were all out for 128.

Minster Lovell 2nd beat visitors Deddington by 42 runs in Division 4.

Tim Gush top-scored with 46 in Minster’s 165-7, Maneesh Verma taking 5-34.

Deddington fell to 123 all out in reply as Ben Spencer took 4-47.

Andy Green claimed 5-25 in Hailey's five-wicket win at home to Watlington who were skittled out for 75, Joel King (37) then seeing Hailey to 77-5.

Swinbrook won at Sunningwell by four wickets after Stuart Bullen (5-17) and Jack Morland (5-36) dismissed the hosts for just 101.

Jack Morland hit 33 in Swinbrook’s reply as they reached 102-6, Pete Whinfrey taking 4-26.

In Division 7, returning star batsman Robbie Nicholson smashed 132 not out and Chris Moore 101 not out as Combe crushed Uffington 2nd by 172 runs.

In Division 5, Chipping Norton 2nd beat visitors Hook Norton by 58 runs.

Yvo Macfarlane hit 70 in Chippy’s 190-7, and then Nathan Wallington (3-10) and Pete Smith (3-38) combined to bowl Hooky out for 132 in reply.

Bampton edged past Charlbury 2nd by three wickets in a low-scoring affair.

Simon Launder (3-7) and Russell King (3-21) helped to dismiss the visitors for just 69, but Bampton were thankful to James Bray (37no) as they reached 72-7.

Kennington defeated visitors West Witney by 56 runs.

They had been restricted to just 139-8, but 4-30 from Simon Palmer helped to dismiss West Witney for 83.

Combe, boosted by the return of their star batsman Robbie Nicholson, were far too strong for Uffington 2nd in Division 7 as they ran out 178-run winners.

Nicholson hit 132 not out and Chris Moore 101 not out as Combe racked up 273-2, before Uffington were shot out for 95, Mike Eeley taking 3-17.

Yarnton & Cowley 2nd beat hosts Hanborough 2nd by 103 runs.

Waqas Ali’s 90 helped Yarnton to 220-7, before Khurshid Khan took 4-30 and Abdullah Saeed 3-19 as Hanborough were bowled out for 117.

Witney Swifts 2nd posted two victories, beating Ducklington by 12 runs on Saturday and Minster Lovell 3rd by 100 runs on Sunday.

Against Ducklington, the hosts were shot out for a paltry 99 as Ryan Lewis claimed 6-31.

But Eliot Braggins (4-18) and Mark Horne (3-17) then combined to dismiss Ducklington for just 87 in reply.

Swifts were too strong for Minster Lovell 3rd 24 hours later.

Dave Woodward (60), Josh Grant (38) and Graeme Woodward (36) helped Swifts to 224-8, and then Woodward claimed 4-18 as Minster were bowled out for 124.

Minster also lost by 91 runs at Wootton & Boars Hill 2nd on Saturday.

Wootton racked up 248-8, Gerrard Whittaker hitting 73.

Felix Wright (45no) and Dee Jarvis (33) batted well for Minster, but they finished well short on 157-6.

In Division 8, William Doar took a hat-trick in figures of 6-24 to help Chadlington 2nd to a 129-run win at Dorchester 2nd.

Dorchester were skittled out for 83 in reply to Chadlington’s 212-5, for whom James Smith top-scored with 41 not out.

Stephen Cooper took 3-24 and hit 39 not out to help Eynsham 2nd to a six-wicket win at Marcham 2nd.

Stanton Harcourt 2nd thrashed Sunningwell 2nd by 179 runs.

Ryan Wastie (71) and Drew Tweedy (63) helped Stanton set a formidable 271-7 in their 45 overs.

Arun White then claimed 4-9 and Wastie 3-8 as Sunningwell fell for 92.
