CHARLBURY retained their position at the top of Division 1 in the OCA League as they easily defeated struggling Oxenford by 64 runs on Saturday.

In damp conditions, Charlbury posted a useful total of 186-9 as Ashley Rump continued his good early-season form with 72.

Bimalka Liyanarachchi then claimed 4-21 and Hasula Prematilaka 3-22 as Oxenford were bowled out for 122.

Minster Lovell extended their unbeaten start with a six-wicket success at home to Yarnton & Cowley.

Leigh Smith led the way with 5-33 in Yarnton’s 149 all out, before Jack Simpson (34no) led Minster’s reply to 154.4.

Chipping Norton fell to a four-wicket defeat at home to high-flying Faringdon.

Ian Oglesby (4-16) and Nigel Hume (4-26) helped dismiss the hosts for 110, before Hume’s 33 led Faringdon to 111-6, despite Jim McGeown’s 4-29.

Stonesfield lost by 83 runs at home to Radley.

Muzammil Rehman hit 69 and Shoaib Ahmed 63 in Radley’s 185 all out, youngster Liam Hatton the pick of the Stonesfield attack with 4-37.

In reply, Stonesfield could not master the conditions, or the bowling of Arfan Younus (4-19) as they crawled to 102-7.

In Division 2, Witney Swifts inflicted Wolvercote’s first defeat as they won by three wickets.

Mark Horne (4-43) and young Redd Pratley (3-21) shone as the visitors were shot out for 120.

But Swifts’ reply was not smooth. They struggled to 121-7 as Kieran Foggett hit 31 and Andrew Fisher 30.

Kilkenny crashed to a surprise 94-run defeat to Kidlington in Division 3.

Michael Tippett struck 42 not out in Kidlington’s 200-9, before claiming 6-26 in 12 overs as Kilkenny were all out for 106.

Eynsham saw off local rivals Stanton Harcourt by 36 runs.

Eynsham posted 167-9, despite Ryan Wastie’s 7-32.

The hosts fell to 131 all out as Sam Hollingshead took 4-24 and Mark Weller 3-18.

In Division 4, Swinbrook soared to the top as they crushed hosts Dorchester by ten wickets.

Andrew Wingfield Digby and Stuart Bullen shared six wickets to hold Dorchester to 144-8.

George Grace (69no) and Tim Martin (58no) helped Swinbrook cruise to 146-0.

Minster Lovell 2nd beat hosts Sunningwell by four wickets.

Sunningwell struggled in wet conditions to post only 130-9, before Zac Jarvis scored 55 for Minster as they reached 132-6.

Hailey beat visitors Deddington by 25 runs.

They had been bowled out for 130, before Andy Green took 3-22 and Jack Wood 3-31 as Deddington were bowled out for 105.

Bampton maintained their 100 per cent Division 5 record at the expense of second-placed Brill in a low-scoring match.

Russell King was the pick of the Bampton attack with 5-30 as Brill were shot out for 80.

But Bampton lost regular wickets in their reply, and were grateful to Ted Landray’s 45 as they struggled to 81-7.

Britwell Salome and West Witney fought out a tie.

Omer Tariq scored 59 in West Witney’s 123 all out, Neil Lawrence taking 4-10 in ten overs.

David Coates then struck 56 in Britwell’s reply, but they fell for exactly the same total, Ian Wallis claiming 3-8.

Garsington crushed visitors Chipping Norton 2nd by nine wickets.

Ozair Malak (4-11) and Sam Wharton (3-37) combined to dismiss Chippy for 85, and then Craig Wharton struck 59 not out as Garsington eased to 86-1.

Charlbury 2nd were shot out for 50 at Hook Norton, who ran out six-wicket winners.

Jordan Glazier was the pick of the Hooky attack, taking 4-3, before his side reached 52-4.

Combe were far too strong for hosts Hanborough 2nd as they cruised to a 93-run win in Division 7.

Chris Moore top-scored with 81 not out as Combe set 195-8.

Julian Chaundy then took 4-25 and Dave Gardner 4-36 to condemn Hanborough to 102 all out.

Ducklington easily defeated hosts Minster Lovell 3rd by 80 runs.

George Townsend’s 84 and 44 from Kane Lewis helped Ducklington to 190 all out, Lyndsay Halliwell taking 5-43 and James Mutton 4-34.

Only Felix Wright (35) got going in Minster’s reply as they were held to 110-8.

Witney Swifts 2nd brushed aside hosts Uffington 2nd by seven wickets.

Three wickets apiece for Andy Purdie (3-35) and Rob Pratley (3-37) helped to dismiss the home side for 157.

Pratley then hit 55 and Purdie 34 not out to steer Swifts to 159-3.

Stonesfield 2nd beat hosts Yarnton & Cowley 2nd by 63 runs.

Jordan Newman top-scored with 46 as Stonesfield were bowled out for 166.

Peter Searle then took over with the ball, claiming 4-26 as Yarnton were all out for 103.

Division 8 leaders Stanton Harcourt 2nd made it six wins out of six as they beat hosts Marcham 2nd by 31 runs.

Ian Urquhart hit 66 and Declan Wastie 43 to help Stanton to 149 all out, Deepak Patel taking 4-24 for the home side.

Wastie then returned figures of 4-16 from 12 overs as Marcham were bowled out for 118.

Eynsham 2nd chased down Chadlington 2nd’s 96 all out to win by eight wickets, Seth Osborne leading the way with 49 not out.
