MINSTER Lovell crashed to their first defeat of the season as they succumbed to an incredible innings from Faringdon’s Nigel Hume in OCA League Division 1.

With a start delayed by rain, the match was reduced to 30 overs per side, and visitors Minster were all out for 138, Connor Tinsley top-scoring with 42.

Faringdon were in a hurry to win before the rain returned, and Hume’s stunning 100 not out in just 46 balls, plus 36 not out from Rob Owen, saw them to a ten-wicket win in just 12.4 overs.

Eynsham’s Sam Hollingshead took 7-22 as his side skittled out visitors Westcott for a paltry 34 in wet conditions in Division 3.

Dave Harris also claimed 3-10 for Eynsham, and although they lost four wickets in reply, they reached 36-4 to record victory.

Stanton Harcourt’s Ollie Pascoe and Luke Pettifer were the stars in their side’s 78-run win away to Kilkenny.

Pascoe hit 60 in Stanton’s 168 all out, Chris May claiming 5-61 for the home side.

Darren Gordon top-scored with 42 in Kilkenny’s reply, but they fell to 90 all out as Pettifer claimed 5-8 and Pascoe 3-12.

In Division 4, leaders Swinbrook fell to only their second defeat of the campaign as they came unstuck at home to West Ilsley.

Tim Martin (42) and Tom Julian (40) took Swinbrook to 136-8 in their 25 overs.

Wayne Lyford, who earlier claimed 3-19, then scored 97 not out to steer West Ilsley to 140-4.

Minster Lovell 2nd were edged out by visitors Watlington in a low-scoring thriller.

Watlington made 117-7 in very wet conditions and while Ollie Mersh (32), Henry Crowther (30no) and Zac Jarvis (30) all batted well for Minster, but they could not overhaul the target, closing on 114-5.

Hailey did not find the wet conditions at Uffington to their liking as they crashed to 43 all out, Martin Key taking 4-22.

Tom Fillery then hit 34 not out as Uffington raced to 46-0.

In Division 8, James Smith hit a brilliant 96 as Chadlington racked up an impressive 197-7 in the extremely tough conditions, Colin Thorpe taking 4-27 for the visitors.

A rain interruption saw Sunningwell’s target revised to 135 from 25 overs, but they fell to 61 all out as veteran Glenn McCallum took 3-24 and 13-year-old George Hill starred with 4-8.

Hanney 2nd shocked Combe with a 31-run victory to reach the semi-finals of the OCA League’s Osberton Radiators Cup.

The match was reduced to 35 overs per side, and Hanney struggled in the damp to post 120-9, thanks largely to Phillip Austin’s 61.

Steve Evans took 4-35 for Combe, who were then tumbled out for 89 as John Bedwell took 3-18 and Jerry May 3-26.

There was no joy for Great & Little Tew 2nd batsmen in their Cherwell League Division 2 match away to Cropredy on Saturday.

In form Cropredy bowler Jake Heath took 4-18 and Jake Walters 3-18 as Tew were shot out for 73 in 34.2 overs.

The home side certainly did not have it all their own way as Jack Belmont took 3-17 for Tew, but Cropredy reached the target in the 30th over with five wickets down.

The rain, which decimated the league programme denied Sandford Martin alomst certain victory against Oxford & Bletchingdon

Nondies had been skittled for for just 100 in their home clash with Sandford's Ollie Ong claiming 4-28.

Sandford were 27-1 after seven overs when a heavy shower put paid to proceedings.

Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd just held Diviison 3 leaders Bledlow Village to a draw in Division 3.

Bledlow were dismissed for 149 with Harry Davies taking 3-28 and Joe Cockroft 3-38 for the hosts.

But Shipton were left clinging on for dear life on 86-9 at the end, thanks to a stubborn 41 not out from youngster Charlie Miller

Dave Pearce claimed 4-23 for the visitors

Mark Robey’s brilliant haul of 7-16 was all in vain for Sandford St Martin 2nd in Division 7, as the rain had the final say.

Robey’s seven wickets reduced Oxford 4th to 162 all out, while Sandford were 31-3 before the heavens opened and the match was abandoned.

In Division 8, Witney Mills 2nd came away from Great & Little Tew 4th with a 42-run victory.

Mills were all out for 164 in the 45th and final over of their innings, Simon Rae taking 4-21 for the hosts.

Alex Wilson then claimed 5-11 for Mills as they reduced Tew to 122 all out in reply to wrap up victory.
