HOCKEY: Ryan Fitz-John brace inspires Witney victory
WITNEY scored a resounding 5-1 away to Wootton Wanderers in the first round of English HA Men’s Vase on Sunday.
The Northampton-based home side, who play two levels below Witney, proved no match for the visitors.
Goals from Ben Wells, Dan Wallis, Fraser Bernard and Ryan Fitz-John put Witney 4-1 ahead at half-time.
Fitz-John added his second after the break.
On Saturday, Witney lost 3-1 to South Berkshire in Middlesex, Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1 of the South League.
Fitz-John scored their only goal with a reverse flick.
