DENIS Smith is among the confirmed special guests when Oxford United hold a 20th anniversary evening to mark the promotion-winning side from 1996.
The manager of the successful season will be reunited with a host of his players, who secured the runners-up spot in Division Two with a 4-0 win against Peterborough United on the final day of the season.
David Rush, who hoisted a corner flag at the Manor after scoring in the game, will be in attendance, along with Stuart Massey and Paul Moody, whose wild celebration at Wycombe Wanderers is one of the defining images from the run-in.
Joey Beauchamp, Matt Elliott and Smith’s assistant, Malcolm Crosby, are among the other guests.
The event will be at the Oxford Academy in Littlemore on Friday, December 9, starting at 7.30pm
Ticket prices, which include a two-course buffet, are £30 for adults and £20 for under 18s.
