ANDY McCabe hit a late winner as Chipping Norton Town scraped past Middle Barton 2-1 in the third round of the John Fathers Oxfordshire Junior Shield.

John Umney appeared to have done enough to send the tie into extra time after cancelling out Aaron Witham’s opener, but McCabe struck late on to end Middle Barton’s hopes of an upset.

Lee Beer notched a hat-trick to help Aston into the fourth round with a 4-0 victory over Diverse, with Ryan Hewer also on target.
