SUNNY Ricketts scored a hat-trick as Witney Ladies returned to South Clubs League action with a resounding 6-1 victory in the cold away to West Hampstead.

Witney raced into 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of this one-sided Division 3A contest with goals from Hayley Dobson, Katie Oliver and Ricketts.

As the icy rain came down the hosts replied with a goal before half-time.

With Katie Gatt in top form and Ellie Kearney creating chances, Ricketts completed her hat-trick after the break, while Dobson added her second. Meanwhile, in men’s South League action, Witney stay top of Middlesex Berks, Bucks & Oxon Division 1, despite being held to a goalless draw at Ashford.

Retaining possession and breaking down the wings through accurate aerial balls from Tim Chilvers to Jacob Deacon, Witney did all but find the back of the net.

They were also unable to convert short corners, with drag-flicker Rory Heaslip misfiring.

With Thomas Dobson in commanding form, Witney defended well when reduced to ten men after Harry Harbage was shown the green card.
