BARTON Rose recorded her first victory for Chipping Norton trainer Charlie Longsdon with a smooth success at Leicester.
The eight-year-old mare, who arrived at Hull Farm Stables from Michael Blake’s yard in October, stormed home by ten lengths from Elkstone in a two-mile handicap chase under Tom Bellamy.
Owner Gillian Morgan reported that Bellamy was a lucky jockey for her, having won on his first ride on Barton Rose’s sister, Midnight Gem, also trained by Longsdon, at Huntingdon in November.
