DAVE Morrison is aiming to take Carterton to the next level after taking over as chairman.

Tom Amer has stepped down after five years at the helm, although he will remain involved at the Uhlsport Hellenic League club.

Morrison said: “I would like to thank Tom for this opportunity and considering myself as a replacement.

“I would also like to thank him for his own personal time and commitment that he has put into the club.

“After a lot of thought and discussions I decided that it would be a great opportunity to move the club forward to the next level.

“I have met with most of the people involved at the club and welcome their ongoing support for us to grow together.

Amer said: “It’s time for someone to grow the club now.

“After many discussions, I decided along with my colleagues that Dave, who has come into Carterton as part of the first team management set-up with Rob Broadbank, would be ideal.”

The new chief was celebrating on Saturday, following Carterton’s 15-0 win over Cheltenham Saracens.

Sean McKeon bagged five, while Tatenda Majoni (3), Josh McGrory (2), Tom Ballard (2), Sam Broadbank, Joe Broadbank and Liam Crabbe also netted.

The thumping victory kept the side third in Division 2 West, just three points behind leaders Newent Town.
