OXFORD Hawks maintained their six-point lead at the top of South League Premier Division 1 with a 5-1 victory away to Milton Keynes.

The visitors had the game won after 20 minutes with goals from Mike Cullimore – his first for the club – Matt Woods, and a penalty from Jack Biggs putting Hawks 3-0 ahead.

Milton Keynes reduced the deficit just before half-time.

Hawks sealed the victory five minutes into the second half when Biggs fired home a penalty corner, but they did not add a fifth until five minutes from time when Will Heywood struck home.

Oxford recovered from going 2-0 down through Tom Seldon’s brace inside the first seven minutes to draw 3-3 at Marlow in Regional 1.

The visitors got their passing game going and a double strike from Si Culmer and a solo effort by Matt Janes put them 3-2 ahead at half time.

Marlow pressed Oxford in the second half, and a defensive error allowed Marlow’s Lewis Goodman to equalise.

Witney moved up to second in Regional 2 with a 5-0 win at home to Marlow 2nd.

Rory Heaslip’s short corner and a strike from Ben Moss put the hosts 2-0 ahead at half-time.

Moss scored his second after the break, before Rob Manson deflected home their fourth and Fraser Barnard completed the scoring with a crunching shot.

Witney face leaders Reading next weekend.
