COKETHORPE School Under 13s retained their county title in fine style.

The Witney-based institution went undefeated in the tournament, winning four of their five games and drawing the other.

Cokethorpe beat Bloxham School, Oxford High, Tudor Hall School and Henry Box.

They shared the spoils with Headington, but won on points difference to claim back-to-back titles.

The girls are now through to the regional round at Woking Hockey Club on Wednesday, March 21.

Head of PE Amber Woodcock has given the players a strength and conditioning programme to follow ahead of the next stage.

She said: “This is a tremendous achievement.

“The entire coaching team are extremely proud of the girls.

“We have qualified for the regional final in two age groups this year – the talent in hockey at Cokethorpe School and commitment of the players is a great sign of things to come.”
