RYAN Ledson has avoided the risk of a two-game suspension after coming through last weekend’s defeat at AFC Wimbledon unscathed.

Bans are given out for players cautioned ten times in the first 37 league games of the season.

Ledson has collected eight yellow cards so far, but one of those was in the Checkatrade Trophy, which operates as a separate competition for disciplinary matters.

It effectively means the midfielder is on seven bookings, so is safe from the sanction – although he would be hit with a three-game ban if his tally reached 15 before the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Todd Kane has so far escaped punishment from the Football Association following comments made about referee Christopher Sarginson last weekend.

The full back, on-loan from Chelsea, called for the Staffordshire official to be sacked following the 2-1 defeat at AFC Wimbledon.

It centred around a penalty decision against Kane, who claimed the referee later told him it was a mistake after reviewing the footage at the break.

He said: “It’s absolutely diabolical.

“Not even just the decision, the whole game – he needs to get fired from being a referee, if I’m honest.”

It risked Kane being sanctioned, but FA regulations state if further action will be taken, the process will start within three working days of them being made aware of the comments.
