SHANDON Baptiste was happy to deliver for Oxford United in their 5-1 win at Longford Town.
The 20-year-old provided three assists, two of which were for Jon Obika, in the victory against the League of Ireland Division 1 side.
His first came before the break, but Baptiste demanded more of himself after the restart.
He said: “I wasn’t too happy with my first half performance, so I said to myself ‘I’ve got to be better in the second half’.
“As a winger you’ve got to provide assists, so that’s what I did.”
Baptiste went on last year’s pre-season tour to Portugal, but has found this summer’s trip more demanding.
He added: “I think this one is a lot harder than last year.
“Everyone’s worked incredibly hard and I think we can take it into the season. I feel a lot fitter.”
