FOOTBALL: Minster aces keep up title challenge

Braces from Brad Bryant and Craig Williams kept Minster Lovell's Division 1 title hopes alive with a 4-1 victory over FC Mills, writes Anthony Barlow.

Rob Debanks bagged Mills's goal, but it was not enough to deny Minster, who now face a title decider with Witney Royals next Wednesday.

Witney Wanderers thrashed Milton 5-1, thanks to Mark Saxel (2), Chris Bennell, Jerry Thomas and Luke Rippington.

Eynsham A produced their best performance of the season as they saw off Aston 6-4.

Simon Tombs and Craig Freeman struck twice each, with Ian Law and an own goal making up their tally.

Phil Caswell replied with a double for Aston, while Ryan Hewer and Joe Hewer were also on target.

Freeland went top of the Premier Division with a 3-1 victory over North Leigh A.

Joe Crocker bagged a brace, with Tom Leader also on target.

Dean Treadwell replied for North Leigh.

Ducklington beat Charlbury Town 2-1, with goals from Matt Gorman and Carey James. Andrew Woodley replied.

In Division 2, AC Finstock were denied promotion after being held to a 3-3 draw by Wootton Sports.

Luke Rand (2) and Leigh Grant scored Wootton's goals, with Chris Thomas's hat-trick proving in vain for Finstock.

Combe secured promotion with a 5-1 victory over Tackley.

Matt Baker bagged a brace, with Sam Hibbard, Adam Fleetwood and Martin Reeves scoring the others.

Craig Broome bagged Tackley's consolation.

Spartan Rangers Res ran out 5-1 winners over Southrop, with a double from John Clarke and goals from Henry Clarke, Jamie Timms and Chris Jordan.

In Division 3, Kingham Res grabbed the second promotion spot after recording a 3-1 victory over Minster Lovell Res.

Roger Huxford, Mark Gorton and an own goal made up Kingham's tally, with Ian Reynolds replying.

Two Rivers saw off Wychwood Forest 3-2, thanks to a double from Tom Radburn and a goal from Peter Borchmann.

In Division 4, Freeland A wrapped up their season with a 3-1 win over Hailey Res.

Stu McNaughton, Ollie Smith and Nathan Langford scored for Freeland, with Les Quick replying.
