SWIMMING: Katy grabs double joy

Twelve-year-old Katy Hoare took a double victory as Witney's youngsters ended their 2008 Milton Keynes Junior League competition with a comprehensive success at Dunstable.

Hoare won both the butterfly and breaststroke events with personal best times to take the swimmer-of-the-match award.

The runner-up vote went to Guy Walker for his efforts in the individual butterfly and backstroke and also four relays.

Despite the unavailability of all the girls in the ten-year-old age group, Witney produced plenty of effort and no swimmer finished lower than third place throughout.

Other wins came from Ellen Moore (backstroke), Imogen Pitson (breaststroke & butterfly), Robert Frost (freestyle), Daniel Frost (backstroke) and Alex Foggett (freestyle).

Result:

Other personal bests: L Dalgarno (backstroke), E Moore (freestyle), R Pratley (breaststroke), J Cockroft (butterfly), R Frost (backstroke), G Kendall (butterfly).
