Witney rounded off their 2008 national league programme with victory in their final round gala at Derby.
Once again it was Witney’s consistency throughout all age groups that brought them victory.
Former ladies’ captain Kitty Gorman produced a super swim to win the ladies’ open 100m butterfly, following on from her efforts in the 200m IM to land the swimmer-of-the-match award.
The runner-up vote was shared between Yolanda Speare, winning of the girls’ 15 & under backstroke and Eloise Fraser, runner-up of the girls’ 11 & under freestyle.
There were also individual wins for Ella Gorman in the ladies’ open backstroke, Harry Hall (13 & under freestyle), Nathan Harkin (15 & under butterfly), while the b oys’ 15 & under relay team of Adam Colling, Tom McLean, Daniel Possee and Harkin were unbeatable in the freestyle and medley relays.
Result: 1 Witney 228pts, 2 Cheltenham 218, 3 Flitwick Dolphins 218, 4 Eckington 204, 5 Etwall Eagles 128.
