Witney finished fifth out of 16 teams who competed for the Premier Warehousing (Sprint) Trophy at Coventry.
For many of the club’s younger swimmers, it was their first opportunity to compete in an Olympic-sized 50m pool, and there were plenty of encouraging performances.
Adam Colling, 14, continued his impressive form to win the boys’ 15 & under breaststroke and butterfly to earn the club’s swimmer-of-the-match award.
The runner-up vote went to 16-year-old James Bark, who won the men’s open butterfly and was runner-up in the men’s open freestyle.
Result (top six): 1 Northampton A 441pts, 2 Braunstone A 389, 3 Melton Mowbray 375, 4 Kettering 355, 5 Witney 352, 6 Leamington 321.
Witney personal bests: O Uden (freestyle), C Jones (butterfly), J Kendall (freestyle), G Walker (backstroke).
