WITNEY’S youngest swimmers gave a good account of themselves when they came fourth in the novice gala at Amersham.
For many of them it was their first taste of competition and they certainly took the opportunity to show their potential.
Star of the show was Ben Kinahan, who stormed to victory in the boys under ten butterfly to earn the club’s swimmer-of-the-match award.
The runner-up vote was shared between trio Lauren Cummings, George Kendall and David Watkins, all of whom produced superb personal bests.
An excellent effort in the opening individual event saw a well-earned first place for Charlotte Emm in the under ten freestyle.
Result: 1 Ruislip-Northwood 175pts, 2 Chalfont Potters 159, 3 Amersham 134, 4 Witney 122, 5 Linslade 100, 6 Thame 50.
Other personal bests: L Botta (backstroke), G Fifield (butterfly), E Bowerman (backstroke), N Priest (butterfly), H Watkins (freestyle & backstroke), J Ascroft (butterfly), O Beland (butterfly).
