YOUNGSTER Katie Nutt is a British record-holder.
The nine-year-old, from Standlake, near Witney, set an under 10’s British Slalom record at the National Youth Trials, at Tallington Lakes near Peterborough.
She went round three buoys at 49kph in the slalom event and then secured a personal best of 580 points in the trick event.
Her exploits have earned her a call-up to represent the Southern Region at the ‘Cutting Edge’ competition in Norfolk in August.
Nutt goes to Standlake Primary School and trains at Fairford Water Ski Club. She also trains at Princes Club in Chertsey with coach Steve Glanfield.
Sponsored by Mastercraft Boats and Craig Cohoon Water Ski School, Nutt is now training for the national finals, which are to be held at Southlake, near Cambridge July 24 and 25.
