HOCKEY: Frost fires Witney to victory

Liam Frost helped himself to a brace as Witney stormed to a 3-0 victory at Tring in South League Regional Division 2 on Saturday.

Justin Peel was their other marksman for Witney who sealed fourth place with a 0-0 draw against Bracknell the following day.

Witney 2nd finished their season in fifth spot in MBB&O Division 4 after a 4-1 victory over Sonning 4th.

Nick Dunnington (2), Tom Yallop and Chris Partridge did the damage for Witney.

Andy Birnie smashed a hat-trick and Fraser Barnard a brace for Witney 3rd as they sealed promotion from Division 7 with a 6-1 victory over Wallingford 4th.

Dan Hulme wrapped up the scoring that saw Witney finish second to guarantee they play in Division 6 next season.

Patrick Button (2), Sam Hook and James Bartrip found the net for Witney 4th as wrapped up a fifth-place finish in Division 8, thanks to a 4-1 success against Aylesbury 4th.

Wychwood ladies 2nd completed their Trysports 3 Counties League Divison 5 programme with a 2-1 win at Henley.

Tiff Fozza and Amy King found the back of the net for Wychwood.
