FOOTBALL: Witney rocked as Denton calls time

Eddie Denton has quit Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division club Witney Town.
Denton and Justin Lee took over as caretaker managers following the resignation last week of Justin Merritt.
No reasons were given for his departure.
It is understood that Lee has taken sole charge on a temporary basis.
Meanwhile, on the field Ben Moses hammered a hat-trick hero as Witney Town coasted to a 6-0 win at Holmer Green in the FA Carlsberg Vase second qualifying round.
Conor McDonagh bagged a brace and James Dobson also netted to set up a first-round home tie against Ascot United on Saturday, October 13.
Carterton crashed out following a 4-2 defeat away to Amersham Town.
Elsewhere, Chris Blakely hit a spectacular 30-yarder as Clanfield won 3-1 at home to Wootton Bassett Town in Div-ision 1 West.
His effort was sandwiched in between goals from Jamie Butt and Mark Odom, with Matt Bown replying for Wootton.
Old Woodstock Town lost 3-0 at leaders Brimscombe & Thrupp, Lee Pritchard (2) and Ben Jones netted. North Leigh Res were beaten 3-0 at home by Lambourn Sports. Adrian Mooney, Danny Langford and Alex Toley netted.
