4:59pm Wednesday 17th October 2012 in Sport
Batholemew School pupil Katie Nutt has been selected by the British Water Ski Federation to attend a Sport England-backed training programme for three days at the end of the month.
The 12-year-old, from Standlake, completed her season at the Seaton Classic at Thorpe Park.
She won her age group with a personal best in the slalom event with four buoys at 55kph on a 16 metre line and competed in the jump event for the first time, scoring a 12.8 metre jump.
Nutt finished in the silver position in the British League Ladies Slalom Division 2 and will be promoted to Division 1 next season.
She has also moved into fourth place in the under 12 girls slalom rankings for Europe and Africa.
Nutt, who trains at Oxford Wake and Ski Club with coach Steve Glanfield, will be winter training in Florida.
She is sponsored by Vision Motorsport Ltd & Mastercraft Boats.
