Woodstock Harriers’ James Bolton was celebrating after winning the Oxfordshire County Champion-ship with a third place in Sunday’s Abingdon Marathon.
The 40-year-old crossed the line in 2hrs 37mins 38secs, with the race won by Blackburn Harriers’ Ben Fish in 2.26.55.
It completed a good month for Bolton, who last week was selected by England for the British and Irish Masters Cross Country International at Cardiff on November 16.
Clubmates David Cantwell was 24th in 2.53.24 as he finished third in the race for the title, while Bryan Vaug-han, was first home in the vet 60 class in 3.04.09.
There was also success for Eynsham Roadrunners’ vet 35 Denise Bridges, who broke the club record as she was second lady home in 3.16.32.
Witney Roadrunners’ Alan Rey-nolds was third in the Vet 50 category, crossing the line in 2.58.54.
