There was a victory double for Woodstock Harriers at the Maylarch Eynsham 10K.

James Bolton won the men’s race and Woodstock clubmate Rachel Masser was the first lady home.

The pair, who have been regular winners during 2013, also won their respective Oxford-shire titles with the race doubling up as the county championships.

Racing in good conditions, with a breeze in places, England vet 40 international Bolton led from gun to tape to clock 32mins 43secs.

Bolton battled with Chris Dettmar (Headington Road Runners) on the first lap before coming home 35 seconds clear of eventual runner-up Paul Fernandez (Abingdon).

Masser, a vet 35 athlete, recorded a personal best time of 37.08 to see off second-placed Chloe Oldfield (Vale of Aylesbury), who clocked 37.29.

Woodstock’s Sophie Carter was fourth lady home in 37.52 and first Oxfordshire senior woman.

Tegid Jones was the first Witney Road Runners athlete home, recording 34.20 for ninth place, while 17-year-old James Currah was 13th in 35.08.

Rob Storey led the Eynsham Road Runners’ challenge, finishing 14th in 35.14.

Woodstock won the open and county ladies’ team prizes, with Sue Cantwell (44.00) joining Masser and Carter.

Meanwhile, Woodstock Har-riers retained their their men’s team title in the Oxfordshire AA Road Race Grand Prix series.

Harriers enjoyed a dominant year in the competition, which concluded with the Eynsham 10K, beating second-placed Headington Road Runners by 33 points.

Woodstock’s ladies were third behind Headington and Alchester.

Bolton won the men’s individual title for a fifth time in six years, leading home a Woodstock one-two-three ahe-ad of Kevin Game and Dave Cantwell.
