Woodstock Harriers’ James Bolton battled through wet and windy conditions to win the White Horse Half Marathon in Grove for the first time in nine attempts.

The Vet 40, who was second in the Banbury 15 last month, crossed the line in 1hr 14mins 32secs, four minutes ahead of his closest challenger Matthieu Marshall (Oxford City AC).

Witney Roadrunners’ V40 Tony Lock finished in third in 1.19.24, with his teammate Dan Blake (1.20.25) fourth.

Blake combined with Lock, Will Downey and Chris Colbeck as Witney Roadrunners were crowned both the open and county championship team champions.

Witney Roadrunners’ Frankie Snare crossed the line third in the ladies individual competition in a time of 1.27.27, which was won by Alchester’s Jennifer McBain in 1.23.41.
