JESSICA Webb led the way for Woodstock Harriers, finishing in the top ten at the second round of the Oxford Mail Cross Country League at Culham Park on Sunday.

Webb finished eighth in the women’s race in a time of 25mins 44secs.

She was followed home by Eynsham Road Runner Hannah Hale and Witney’s Frankie Snare, who crossed in 11th and 12th places respectively.

In the men’s race, Dan Blake, of Witney, was the first west Oxfordshire runner home, finishing tenth in 29.55.

Eynsham’s Ben Pollard came inside the top 20, crossing in 16th.

Meanwhile, in the junior races, Witney runner Oscar Oweka took victory in the under 9 girls and boys event.

  • STEVE Naylor, from Witney, won the third round of the Chiltern Cross Country League, which was held at the same venue on Saturday.

Naylor, competing for Bedford & County, beat Steve Tuttle of Marshall Milton Keynes by just over a minute.
