DEFENDING champion James Bolton rounded out the top three at the White Horse Half Marathon in a race which also incorporated the county championships.

The Woodstock Harriers's third place finish saw him clinch silver in the vet 40 category, crossing in a time of 1hr 15mins 53secs.

Witney's Gareth Petts was seventh and won senior men's bronze, while Woodstock's David Cantwell was the third vet 40 in ninth place.

His clubmate Jessica Webb was crowned ladies champion after crossing tenth in 1.21.20.

Eynsham's Hannah Hale was the next female home in 46th place, while Kate Williamson won vet 55 gold to complete the route in 171st.

In the men's vet 60 race, Mark Creasey, of Eynsham, was second in his age category in 138th.
