RACING: Iley Boy bounced back to winning ways at Kempton to give Chastleton owner-trainer John Gallagher his first success of 2018.
The four-year-old had opened his account at Wolverhampton last month, before he was unlucky in running when beaten at Lingfield.
But he came home a decisive two-lengths winner of a mile-and-a-half handicap from Hi There Silver in the hands of Ben Curtis.
Meanwhile, Anneli Lewis and Alice Aucott, from Charlie Longsdon’s Chipping Norton yard, missed out on a place among the three finalists in their categories for the 2018 Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards
Lewis and Aucott had made the shortlists of ten for the rider/groom and David Nicholson newcomer awards respectively.
ATHLETICS: Matthew Lock put in a strong performance at the Abingdon 10K, despite the wintry weather.
The Witney Roadrunner battled through the snow to finish tenth in 39mins 23secs.
