Jack Soppett took 8-70 for Banbury Twenty, but still ended on the losing side as Cumnor rallied to win by 34 runs in Division 1.

A patient 69 by Adam Cook was the mainstay of Cumnor's innings, which started slowly but increased in tempo and ended on 191-9.

Tim Pearce (41) then top-scored for Twenty, who lost early wickets in reply, but were recovering well until off-spinner Matthew Neilson (4-35) took three wickets in one over.

The last pair clung on for 50 minutes, but the wicket fell on 157 with rain closing in.

Dinton went back to the top by completing the double over Shipton-under-Wychwood.

Only Jason Hunt and Ian Lewis, both of whom scored 36, showed much form as Shipton were dismissed for 158. Tim Brooker (3-24) and Mark Ludlow (3-52) did much of the damage.

Rob King (36) and Lee Marland (35) then set Dinton on their way before Shaun Smith's unbeaten 38 finished the job. Shaun Miller (3-54) was the only Shipton bowler to have any success.

Bicester & North Oxford are still seeking their first win, but came close to success in a low-scoring match at home to Horspath.

Bicester were bowled out for 151, with Will Eason (3-29) and Ben Cook (3-31) in the wickets and Joshua Smith (46) in the runs.

Australian Alister Gibbins and Eason then both scored 50 for the visitors, but Matthew Woods took 5-24 and the sides had to settle for a draw with the Horspath total on 145-7.

There was another tight finish at morning leaders Buckingham Town, who fell three runs short of beating Oxford 2nd.

Oxford's 227 all out had relied heavily on Wasim Mehmood's 102 not out and Ian Crosby's 78.

Brook Hatwell took 4-34 and Vishal Valambhia 3-60 for Town, who could never get ahead of the required run rate in reply. Despite good knocks by Brook Hatwell (68), Jonny Cater (61) and Leigh Tomlinson (46), they closed on 225-6.

Further proof that draws can be exciting came at Bletchley Town, where the hosts and Oxford Downs both had a chance of victory entering the final over.

Downs were defending their 233-7, in which skipper Wes Bartlett scored 110, Tom Crouch 51 and James Florey 31 not out, while James Sprittles took 6-64.

Bartlett's opposite number Graham Simpson (107) also scored a ton for Town, and Edmund Packard hit 59, but wickets kept falling and they finished on 229-8.
